This Bonebear linocut was inspired by a dream of CL Nolan's, renowned Hookland writer, folklorist and close friend of Arthur Machen's.

“I had the dream again of the ghost bear hurling bones into the air. When they fell upon the forest floor, they formed strange signs that I could not interpret. It was as if I was on the ether again.” - CL Nolan in a letter to Arthur Machen, 1906

This is a limited linocut edition of 21 numbered prints, printed with black water-based relief printing ink on acid-free cartridge paper, 190gsm.

Bone bear, reading the bones

I fell in love with the idea of the Bone Bear when I first saw @HooklandGuide's post. To see this dream channeled into an incredible linocut is absolutely magic manifest. This bear will grace my bedroom, where he will do his prognostications while I dream. I hope he will bring me good dreams, or at least interesting ones. Thank you so much, and thank you @HooklandGuide as well. I feel more deeply connected to Hookland than ever.
